We belong to the Ontario Finger Lakes Beekeepers' Association and are helping to train new beekeepers each year. In addition, we are working with other beekeepers to breed locally raised, winter hardy, and pest resistant honeybees. This is a large and time consuming project, but we believe that it is worth the investment to improve the survival rates of honeybees in our area.
Each year we expand our bee population in order to supply quality bee products to local customers AND to help local farmers pollinate their crops.

Our bees are kept in permanent apiaries on farms where they pollinate trees, flowers and food crops without the stresses associated with continual relocation, as sometimes happens with commercial pollinators. Honeybees are vital to maintaining our local food supply.

Read more about the Bloomfield Honey Farm and other local beekeepers in a Messenger Post news article: "The Bee All and End All".

-Jill & Bill Stackpole, Bloomfield Honey Farm
